Good Sweetener March 13, 2010

I really like this sweetener for it's taste and price. For me, many of the artificial sweeteners have an after taste and trigger a headache which makes them unusable. I haven't had those problems with Stevia OR Stevita. However I have noticed using half a Stevita packet sweetens enough without the grassy flavor I detect when I use an entire packet. This is definitely a WIN!

The good news is that this product was cheap...bad news is it's horrible
It's the singlemost chemical tasting sweetener I've used in my 50+ years with diabetes
It'll be Sweetleaf or Truvia for me...pink is far better than this product

If you are looking for something exactly like sugar. BUY SUGAR. However, you will then deal with all of the negative effects of sugar least of which is the calories you will be taking in with every cup of coffee, or tea, or bowl of cereal etc. I love stevia supreme. I use it im my coffee 3 or 4 times each day ( ok, I agree I drink too much coffee) and it tastes great. Even when I add cream as well, the taste of the coffee is nicely sweetened with no negative flavor. To be honest, when I first started eating stevia, it took a bit to get used to as although it is sweet, it is a different kind of sweet then pure sugar. The main difference is that its simply stronger then sugar, so if you taste it directly it can be quite strong. However in drinks and cereal it really is great, and NO CALORIES. I have actually tried some of the Stevita liquid flavors as well, and they have been an awesome way to flavor my coffee from time to time, and I actually like the lemon flavor directly in water. (its more like a cake lemon flavor .. not citrus. Really delicious).
So, I have read allot of reviews here about how stevia doesnt taste like sugar, and so its horrible. But simply know that its NOT sugar, and give it a chance. After a few drinks with it, you will be hooked. Its great.

I loved the Stevita Supreme brand stevia! I have tried several other brands and and I find this brand with the taste most similar to the taste of real sugar..
My husband and children also agree that this is a very good tasting sugar substitute and at a very reasonable price..
