 Fiancee loves it! November 20, 2008
I purchased this for my fiancee, who tends to forget to shave. She had mentioned that she might try it so I bought it for her. Initially it was extremely painful for her and she could only do her legs. She can now do her underarms and bikini area (still hurts, but is hurting less as she uses it more). She only shaves once a week if she remembers... but her legs stay smooth. Thank god. :)
She insisted that I try using it on my leg when she started using it. I didn't seem to think that it really hurt. More just a pinching sensation. I'm not sure though. I am a guy and never shave my legs so maybe the long hairs made it less painful...?
Great Product and a tip November 19, 2008
With over 300 5-star ratings, I doubt there is more I can say about how great this product is. Instead I have two tips for users or potential users.
If you have skin that gets red & blotchy after tweezing or epilating, get a bottle of Benadryl itch stop gel, apply to the skin, wait 5 minutes, wipe off and then epilate with blotch-free (or at least reduced) skin!
If you are a person absolutely terrified of the pain, get a bottle of skin numbing gel. I don't adhere to one brand, just anything that ends with -caine. Just test a small area first to make sure you aren't allergic to the product first.

I just received this product & I absolutely love it. This is my very fist experience with an Epilator - so needless to say I really didn't know that to expect (as far as pain was concerned).
Initially I was a bit taken aback by the discomfort from the rapid hair removal - but in the end it has proven to be totally worth it.
I'm glad I made the investment. If you can tolerate a moderate amount of pain - for a short period of time - then I highly recommend it to anyone.
 Not very silky November 19, 2008
I've been using this product for about 4 weeks now instead of shaving my legs. It has never made my legs feel silky or smooth, the way that shaving did. It cannot remove the very short hairs that irritate me the most, but it does remove the longer, visible growth. So if tiny stubble doesn't give you problems, then this is a good product. But if you're looking for great smoothness, stick to shaving or another hair-removal method.

I had an older model that "gave up the qhost"! I bought this as a replacement.
It goes much faster (I use the slower speed on my underarms & bikini area). The biggest improvement is the "head light"!! It really helps see those hairs, which I might otherwise miss (or contort my body to try to see)!!
